Q: What's the different between Unlimited Calling and Unlimited Users/Extensions? Why does CLONE LINE offer one over the other?
A: Phone service providers can offer either Unlimited Minutes or Unlimited Users, but not both. As you can imaging, allowing both unlimited minutes and callers would quickly bankrupt the service provider.
So the question is, "what are the advantages of one over the other?"
First, it is important to state that in reality, there are no truly "unlimited" calling plans. All phone service providers have "fair and reasonable use" clauses in their Terms of Service, which limit calls. This fair limit ranges between 2 and 5 thousand minutes "per line" or "per extension". These providers charge the same "all you can eat" rate for every extension, regardless of how much, or how little it is used. As a result, the more phones you have, the more unfavorable that type of price structure becomes. Even with only 2 or 3 phones, you might easily pay 2 times more than you would with CLONE LINE, and in some cases as much as 10 times more than with CLONE LINE.
By contrast, CLONE LINE offers Unlimited Users and Extensions, rather then Unlimited Minutes of calls. You can select a bundle of lines and minutes, such as a 2 line 500 minute plan, or a 4 line 2000 minute plan, and share it with as many users and phones as you like, even across multiple offices in different cities or states.
Our research suggests that 80% of businesses are better off with a CLONE LINE-style pricing plan, rather than so-called unlimited calling plans. One exception would be an individual who is making a huge volume of telemarketing calls on a single line. But then again, that user will likely run up against "fair and reasonable usage" issues, and get flagged for violating Terms of Service.
Clients who switch to CLONE LINE, save around 50% on average, compared to "per line" or "per extension" services.
